The Rembau Short Story tells the origin story of Commander Zulkifli “Jo" Hasan of the UNES Tigris. Rembau takes readers back to Jo and his childhood gang in his hometown of Rembau. This Malaysian created Sci-Fi story brings readers to the events which molded the young Jo into what he becomes, as first depicted in the Graphic Novel, Marooned. His ability to manage and lead a group of friends into a ‘gang’ that would create the ‘adult’ Jo, is the first of many leadership roles he assumes in the future. It is full of its nuances as a village in the Malay Peninsular.

This Short Story presents the conclusion of the Rembau story which started as a Micro Story. The Rembau Micro Stories began with 500 words per issue, evolving into a compiled Mini Story with approximately 2000 words. The Rembau short story culminates with the completion of a 10,000-word package. This is presented in 56 fully coloured pages of an A5-sized gloss print. Illustrations for the pages were included to enable the nuances of the mystery and the ambience of the scenes to come through.
